Using m:ui for WiX Bootstrapper possible?

Dec 19, 2014 at 9:53 AM
Hey,

at work I'm trying to develop a WiX bootstrapper with a matching GUI for our main product. I just managed to build a GUI (in a .dll) with WPF and then I found m:ui yesterday and fell in love :D

So I tried to get m:ui working for my bootstrapper, but I failed.
I believe my mistake is deleting the app.xaml, because this file cannot stay in a class libary.
Do you have any suggestions for a newbie?

thank you in advance,,
khahn

This is uncharted territory, but you will need to move the ModernUI resources from App.xaml to a resource dictionary in your user control. That will probably work, but the AppearanceManager will most likely fail, since it assumes those resources are available in the global app resources.

Basically you are on your own here, this is an unsupported scenario, but it might work fine.

Happy new year! Thank you for your answer. I will try to conquer this territory and will let you know, if I found a way :)
